In other basketball news, last Tuesday night I had the opportunity to watch the Gator basketball team play at Madison Square Garden in something called the NIT. For all intents and purposes, let's call it the "Not In Tournament" Tournament. It was a debacle. From getting the tickets from Will Call (the governor of Massachusetts' assistant SKIPPED us in line just as we got to the front,) and buying way expensive hot dogs to finding our seats and watching the Gators play like a high school JV team, the evening started out not so great. It wasn't until we got to Brother Jimmy's (gees, I give that place a lot of business!) that the pain of losing to UMass (who?) started to subside.
It was so good to catch up with old friends (and welcome a new one!) even if it was absurdly late for a "school night." We played this absurd hunting arcade game where you get to shoot frogs and jugs and hogs. Shooting frogs is hy-sterical! I laughed so hard and sucked so badly at shooting that I felt like I was playing for the Gators... oh snap.
After we closed down Brother Jimmy's, we ended up chatting 'til late at a totally empty bar right in our neighborhood - where some cougars hit on Paul. Just another boring night in NYC!
