What Do You Do? Part 1

In the wake of my promotion last week to Senior Account Executive, there's no time like the present to share with you exactly what it is that I do. Most folks have a hard time putting Public Relations into words and with good reason. Wikipedia defines PR as "the practice of managing the flow of information between an organization and its publics. PR aims to gain an organization or individual positive exposure to their key stakeholders. Common activities include speaking at conferences, winning industry awards, working with the press and employee communications."

While that sounds boring and corporate, you all know my job is anything but. Scarily, that lame definition was all I knew of public relations when I signed up to major in it at UF. Actually, I had two reasons for choosing it:
1. I'm a "people person"
2. I only had to take two math classes

True story. Way to choose a lifelong profession, B.A.A.

It's only by the unfathomable wisdom and grace of God that I actually turned out to be good at PR, considering I do have to do math and it doesn't matter if you're a "people person" or not.
