I mentioned a while ago that there is some upheaval on the way and I want to give you fair warning - it's happening really soon (perhaps on a certain someone's birthday)! While we await the big news, I thought we could reminisce about the good times and the bad times we've shared over the past four years and 700+ posts here on BigAppleAngie.com.
Remember Bev B and her absurdly frightening hip hop class? She tried to teach me to krump, and I was crushed to discover I had no funk center. If that wasn't demoralizing enough, no one picked me for their music video while I was showing off my new skills at a club in Vegas.
You all were so kind to listen to my rantings about dating all these years! Remember the social experiment on Match.com and its many installments? Or my inflamed monologues on Flirtexting and what men want? I may not be a dating expert, my BigAppleAngie.com still gets tons of hits from people searching for "fat lazy husband." Just saying.
Of course in between blog posts, I've been working my butt off, and loving just about every minute of it. Remember the crazy shenanigans from Miss Universe 2009? Or the time I helped out with PR for a certain miracle? Or felt like a Gryffindor at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter grand opening? Or my nerve-wracking appearance at Weber Shandwick's Agency Idol?
Speaking of Agency Idol... there's been so much singing. I've spent the past four birthdays in NYC and almost all of them have involved karaoke. I'd be remiss if I left out the professionals who actually get paid to sing... they're part of the reason I moved to this fabulous town. I can't even remember all the shows I've seen, but Wicked, Rock of Ages, Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, The Producers, Spring Awakening, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Chicago, Legally Blonde immediately come to mind. How lucky am I to live just a stone's throw away from the real Broadway?!
Living in NYC, I've seen so many celebrities, too, from Lady Gaga to Mel from Flight of the Conchords to Dougie Howser and current 'it' girl Lea Michele. It's been fun to run into the rich and famous just doing their thing!
After all those NYC memories, I can't believe I had time to visit St. Thomas, Bolivia, Hawaii - twice!, Italy, Paris - twice!, Mexico, Vegas, London and glorious, exotic Wisconsin - twice! And let's not forget The Bahamas... if I've been there once, I've been there 3 dozen times. My cup, and my passport, overfloweth!
There have been some rough patches, of course, and you've all been there to share those with me as well. Mom's brain surgery and losing Gram & Aunt Cathy were incredibly rocky times, but you were so good to bear with me. And who can forget my multiple broken bones, injuries, pnuemonia, bronchitis and everything else under the sun... I may have slowed down here and there, but you were always so supportive.
We've shared some great memories, readers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for faithfully reading and cheers to many more memories... in whatever form they take...
